Giles and Emma Crickmay, a brother and sister duo, are the owners and joint Managing Directors of Frank Dale. The pair grew up around the business their father James helped to build with Frank Dale and his two stepsons Ivor and John Gordon.
The company was founded in 1946 by Frank Dale, a dealer of Rolls-Royce and Bentley motor cars in post-war London. Over the years the business gradually moved further west to a number of different premises in London until the decision was made to move the business out to the tri-county border of Surrey, Berkshire & Hampshire in 2019. This is where the company now runs their 14,000 square foot technical workshop with their wider team of staff.
The overall management and vision for the business, which has grown exponentially under Giles & Emma’s direction over the past ten years, is shared with Director Greg West, who started working at Frank Dale alongside Giles in 2006. With their diverse skills and combined experience, the trio are involved in every aspect of the business, either behind the wheel of a car or at their desks. Alongside Giles, Emma and Greg are the Heads of Departments.
Frank Dale’s longest serving technical guru, with over forty five years experience, Vincent is hugely respected across the industry for his knowledge and preservation style approach to all the cars in his care. A mine of information on the subject of Rolls-Royce and Bentley motor cars, his mantra remains ‘you never stop learning’ and you will often find Vincent studying a technical manual from the workshop library. Vincent manages the pre-war department and continues to advise on the post-war models.
A long-term expert technician at Frank Dale, Ben’s knowledge and personal love for the modern classic era of Rolls-Royce and Bentley is second to none. His advice is regularly requested by customers and the industry media as this wide era of models gains momentum in the desirability stakes.
With a firm eye, and ear, for detail in the post-war models, particularly Continentals, Kirk shares the management of this large department with Vincent Roma. He is nearly always the final tester on the cars of this era, a finely tuned engineer who treats every car with a great deal of care and attention.
Frank Dale remains a family business with a core set of values which reflect their passion and integrity for the cars they specialise in.
With a brand-new state of the art premises due to be completed during 2025, only 200 yards from their current location, they continue to welcome their global clientele to experience how Frank Dale are preserving the past and embracing the future of these wonderful motor cars.
