Frank Dale Comment

As Derby Bentleys go, this is one of the most instantly recognisable. Known to most as “Honeysuckle” due to its original coachwork colour, this wonderful VDP Tourer was owned by Johnnie Green for many years and has graced the pages of several books and magazines. We were approached by its long-term owner a few years ago as the car had deteriorated. We were given the brief to sympathetically restore the car’s cosmetics, whilst preparing it for touring across Europe. The coachwork and ash frame needed significant attention, whilst the mechanical aspects of the car were all reviewed and overhauled where necessary. The beautiful red leather was retained, whilst new carpets and hood were fitted. The finished car was invited to be shown at the 2019 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance where it was widely admired and looked fantastic in the California sunshine. A proud moment for everyone at Frank Dale and a very enjoyable week to be a part of.
