We purchased this early production S1 Continental drophead from a collector in the UK some years ago. At point of purchase, it had seen better days and needed a thorough restoration. We supplied the car to a long-standing client who instructed us to do just that. He particularly liked another S1 Drophead based in the US that he had seen photos of, finished in the very attractive shade of steel blue, with a dark blue hood and a tan leather interior. So, we set about replicating this livery for him as the restoration unfolded. The coachwork required extensive restoration and new box sills. The engine was overhauled, air conditioning and factory correct style power steering were added and by the time the car was completed, it was perhaps better than new. We believe it to be one of the most attractive examples we have had the pleasure of restoring. Great colours and a great choice by the owner at the time.
