This car was sent to us from Australia to restore. We had assumed that coming from one of the hottest, driest countries in the world, that the coachwork would be in good order and relatively free from corrosion. We couldn’t have been more wrong, quickly uncovering the problems as the restoration ensued. The corrosion was significant and required a huge amount of work to remove, restore and put right. The sills had to be removed and replaced with newly fabricated units. Each panel needed significant work; the coachwork restoration of this car alone was an extensive project. However, once completed, we had a very sound base to work from and produced a beautiful car which the London based owner enjoys touring in. We fitted a new hood in dark blue everflex and also thoroughly reviewed the mechanics and electrical aspects of the car to ensure reliability, correct performance and enjoyable motoring. The owner uses the car when he is in London and takes it across to Europe most summers. It has also appeared at some concours events, recently being invited to the London Concours.
