Whilst the coachwork is being restored the brightwork is removed and retained to ensure it is available for trial fitting purposes. The marrying up of the restored coachwork and chrome is extremely important, everything has to fit perfectly, so great care is taken to ensure this result is achieved. Once we are happy with the fit of all the chrome items on the restored shell of the coachwork, they are sent to our specialists to be stripped down, repaired if necessary and polished. Each item is then triple plated (copper, nickel and chrome) to ensure a top-quality finish that not only looks good but lasts. We also look at the car’s badges at this time. If they are in need of restoration or fresh enamel, this is undertaken at this point too. We like to time the return of the chrome to coincide with the completion and polishing of the coachwork, so they can be reunited to produce a top-class finish.
