With the rolling chassis completed it’s then time to run a new wiring loom throughout the car. During the initial strip down process, we remove the original wiring loom and have a new one made to the same original specification. The process then begins, laying out the loom to ensure it follows the original routing paths. It is secured in various locations to prevent it from moving and then each wire is connected according to the original wiring diagram and the labels made during disassembly. Each connection is soldered or crimped to ensure a durable and reliable connection. Sections of the loom are then covered and wrapped with heat shrink tubing and electrical tape to protect them from moisture and wear. During the whole process, the loom is continually tested to ensure safety and reliability. During final testing of the car, when it’s back on the road, we go through extensive checks of the electrical system to check everything over once again.
